Swedish lighting company Profoto has unveiled the Spot Small, a compact light modifier designed for precise lighting control. Aimed at professionals in fashion, portrait, product, and fine art photography, the Spot Small produces a clear beam through its focusable 115mm optical lens. It is compatible with both flat and protruded flash heads, supporting a wide range of Profoto lighting systems including ProHead Plus, Acute/D4, D1, B1X, B1, Pro-B3, D2 Industrial, D2, Pro-D3, D30, and the B2 Pack.
“Built for years of everyday use, the Spot Small’s robust design and 360° vented housing ensures reliable performance, even during demanding shoots, and it works seamlessly with both flat and protruded flash heads. Whether used with flat or protruded flash heads, this is your tool for precision and creative freedom,” Profoto promises.
Weighing 2.5 kg and measuring 35.5 cm in length, the modifier is built with portability in mind while trying to maintain the durability required for intensive professional use.
The Profoto Spot Small includes integrated adjustable metal leaves for beam shaping and supports creative light manipulation through its included Iris and Gobo Holder (compatible with 2.6″ Series M Gobos, though none are included). The magnetic front ring also allows seamless use of Profoto’s Clic accessories, including optional gels, grids and domes, providing photographers with several ways to shape light and color.
