TTArtisan Releases 35mm f/1.4 Tilt Lens for APS-C

The TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 Tilt lens is the Chinese company’s latest release, a manual-focus lens designed for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It features a tilting front optical group that can be adjusted up to 8 degrees to the left or right, giving users precise control over the plane of focus. Combined with a 360-degree rotating mechanism marked in 15-degree increments, the tilt can be oriented in any direction, allowing for a range of creative applications such as selective focus or the popular miniature effect.

The lens is equipped with a fast f/1.4 aperture, enabling shallow depth of field and smooth background blur. Without tilt engaged, it operates like a standard 35mm prime lens, offering a natural field of view with good low-light performance. When mounted on APS-C sensors, it delivers a focal length equivalent of approximately 53mm, and about 56mm on Canon RF-mount cameras. On Micro Four Thirds systems, the effective focal length becomes 70mm due to the sensor crop factor.

Optically, the lens includes seven elements in six groups and features a 10-blade diaphragm for smoother out-of-focus areas. It can focus as close as 0.35 meters, making it suitable for close-up work as well. Both focus and aperture are controlled manually, with a de-clicked aperture ring that allows for smooth adjustments during video recording.

Constructed with a full-metal body, the lens weighs between 341 and 350 grams depending on the mount, and its length varies from 61 to 66 millimetres. It is compatible with Sony E, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Micro Four Thirds mounts.

The TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 Tilt lens is currently available for $169. It joins the brand’s lineup alongside the full-frame 50mm f/1.4 Tilt lens, which is priced at $229.
