Reto Launches Pano 35mm Film Camera with Switchable Panoramic Mode

Reto, a Hong Kong-based brand known for its retro-inspired analog cameras, has introduced the Reto Pano, a new 35mm film camera that allows users to switch between standard and panoramic formats mid-roll without changing film. The camera intuitive and versatile features make it suitable both for professionals and beginners’ use.

Measuring 110 x 62 x 32mm and weighting 93 grams, the Reto Pano features a fixed 22mm f/9.5 lens composed of two optical-grade acrylic elements. This ultra-wide-angle lens is designed for expansive landscapes and delivers a cinematic feel when the camera is switched to panoramic mode. A switch below the lens allows users to alternate between the standard 35mm frame (35 x 24mm) and a cropped panoramic format (35 x 14.9mm) at any point during the roll, offering creative flexibility without the need for multiple cameras or film swaps. The shutter speed is fixed at 1/100 second, and given the lens’s narrow aperture, most scenes will be rendered with a broad depth of field.

A built-in flash extends the camera’s usability to indoor or low-light environments, while the manual wind and rewind mechanism maintains a tactile, analog experience. It is powered by a single AAA battery, which is required solely for flash operation.

The Reto Pano is priced at $35 USD, and it’s available in five color variants: translucent black, translucent white, metallic pink, metallic mint, and metallic silver. Some colorways, such as Sheer White, reveal the inner components of the camera for a distinct retro-tech aesthetic. It is currently available worldwide, with packages including the camera, a lens cover and a strap; film and battery must be purchased separately.
