SWIT Launches USB-C Dummy Battery Lineup
Chinese company SWIT has released a series of USB-C dummy battery accessories aimed at simplifying on-location and mobile camera power setups. The product range includes models for Sony NP-FZ100 and Canon LP-E6 battery platforms, a dual-output NP-F dummy battery and a bi-directional USB-C to D-tap converter. These devices are intended to streamline power delivery using USB-C Power Delivery (PD) or D-tap inputs, offering an alternative to conventional battery-swapping workflows.
The accessories are designed for mirrorless cameras, DSLRs and compact cine cameras. By regulating voltage internally, each dummy battery maintains compatibility with a variety of USB-C sources, including PD power banks, AC adapters and V-mount batteries. SWIT’s implementation includes built-in trigger circuits that negotiate the correct PD voltage profile for each battery type, with regulated output levels—typically 7.2V or 8.4V at up to 3A—depending on the model.
The DB-FZ100 is tailored for Sony mirrorless cameras that use the NP-FZ100 battery, such as the FX3, FX30 and A7/A9 series. It converts USB-C PD to a regulated 8.4V/3A output. Similarly, the DB-E6P is compatible with Canon LP-E6 variants, supporting models such as the EOS R5, R6, 5D and 6D, along with Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras and Z CAM bodies. It also delivers 8.4V at up to 3A.
For accessory powering, the DB-DF570 provides two NP-F-style outputs at 8.4V/8A and includes a 36W USB-C output: it can be powered by either USB-C or D-tap sources and features an LED display to show input voltage. The unit is designed for simultaneous use with devices like field monitors, transmitters or small LED lights.
The BC-PD100 is a bi-directional converter allowing power to flow either from a D-tap source to USB-C devices or from a USB-C PD source to charge D-tap-equipped batteries. It supports up to 100W USB-C output and includes a 1/4-inch mounting screw for attachment to rigs.
SWIT’s offerings distinguish themselves primarily through integration with the company’s existing battery systems, such as the CIMO and VOLTA lines, and its monitoring products, including the K-series field monitors.
The DB-FZ100 and DB-E6P retail at €29, the DB-DF570 at €39, and the BC-PD100 at €49. At current exchange rates (July 2025), this corresponds to approximately $31–$53 USD per unit. The accessories are available now through SWIT’s distributor network.
