Xiaomi Releases 15T and 15T Pro with Leica Cameras and Flagship Specs

Xiaomi recently introduced its 15T and 15T Pro smartphones, both featuring a Leica-branded triple-camera system, making photography a central aspect of their appeal.

The camera setup includes Leica Vario-Summilux lenses, alongside features such as the Leica street photography mode for quick photo capture from the lock screen, Leica Master Portrait tools and various Leica-tuned styles and filters. While both models share several camera specifications, there are key differences in their photographic capabilities. The 15T Pro has a larger main camera sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens with a 115mm equivalent focal length, which provides more reach compared to the 46mm equivalent telephoto lens on the 15T. Additionally, the 15T Pro supports 4K video recording at 120fps and 8K at 30fps, while the 15T is limited to 4K60.

In terms of hardware, the 15T Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, paired with 12GB of RAM, and features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3200 nits. It supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. On the other hand, the 15T uses the Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset with the same 12GB of RAM and display specifications but has a lower 120Hz refresh rate and slower charging capabilities, limited to 67W wired charging without wireless support. Both phones are built with Gorilla Glass 7i and are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance.

The design of both devices follows Xiaomi’s typical approach, with the 15T Pro using a high-strength aluminum alloy and the 15T featuring a fiberglass rear panel. Both phones sport a sleek, contemporary appearance with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display, which supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. They also come with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, which introduces new multitasking features, improved app launch times, and a redesigned interface. Additionally, the 15T series debuts the Xiaomi Offline Communication feature, which allows users to make voice calls between two devices within a range of up to 1.9 km, even in the absence of cellular or WiFi signals.

In terms of storage, the 15T Pro offers 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB options, while the 15T is available with 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The battery on both models is rated at 5,500mAh, which supports fast charging, with the 15T Pro benefiting from higher charging speeds. Both phones also feature advanced audio capabilities, including Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support.
