Camp Snap Reveals CS-Pro with Xenon Flash
Camp Snap has announced the Camp Snap Pro (CS-Pro), a new version of its minimalist point-and-shoot camera. The American company, known for its screen-free approach to digital photography, describes the CS-Pro as an evolution of the original Camp Snap rather than a redesign.
The new model doubles the sensor resolution from 8 to 16 megapixels while retaining the same small 1/3-inch CMOS format. It features a fixed f/2.2 lens, though the company has not specified the exact focal length. The lens now includes a filter thread, allowing the use of additional filters. One of the main updates is the replacement of the LED flash with a Xenon unit, a technology that was once common in compact cameras and provides brighter, more natural illumination with shorter flash duration. Camp Snap says the updated processor provides faster response and reduced shutter lag compared to the original.
The CS-Pro maintains the brand’s signature simplicity: it is still a screen-free camera built around point-and-shoot operation, relying on a single shutter button and an optical viewfinder. The viewfinder has been moved to the upper left corner, adopting a layout reminiscent of classic rangefinder cameras. Also, a new dial on the top allows users to switch between four built-in filters inspired by analog film looks. Unlike the previous model, these filters can be changed directly on the camera instead of through a computer connection.
Other changes include a redesigned body finished in black and silver, a USB-C charging port, and a more accessible SD card slot. A 4GB card is included, and the camera supports up to roughly 500 shots per battery charge. There is also a 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom.
The company has not provided full technical details, such as the sensor manufacturer or the lens construction, but notes that the improvements target image sharpness and operational speed rather than changing the shooting philosophy.
