SWIT Introduces PowerCell Camera Batteries with USB-C Charging

At IBC 2025, SWIT unveiled its new PowerCell series, a lineup of camera batteries that expands the company’s well-established reputation for reliable power solutions. Known for its monitors, lights, and wireless video systems, the Chinese manufacturer continues to strengthen its focus on powering professional workflows—following its earlier launch of USB-C dummy batteries for compact and mirrorless cameras.

Each PowerCell battery uses Panasonic NCR1850 cells, the same grade found in many OEM batteries, ensuring consistent output, long life, and thermal stability. SWIT claims the design delivers a smoother discharge curve than many budget alternatives, minimizing sudden power drops and providing more accurate runtime data to connected cameras. The batteries indeed match OEM discharge curves, ensuring accurate power readouts on supported cameras.

The first models in the range cover four major battery types: Sony NP-FZ100, Canon LP-E6P, Nikon EN-EL15c, and Fujifilm NP-W235, with Panasonic-compatible versions to follow: SWIT plans to release versions for popular camera systems, including Sony’s FX3, FX30, and Alpha series; Canon’s R5, R6, and EOS C50; Nikon’s Z8 and Z9; and Fujifilm’s X-T and GFX lines.

All models support USB-C charging, allowing users to recharge via standard chargers, V-mount batteries with USB-C ports, or power banks. They remain compatible with the cameras’ original chargers as well. The batteries operate at 7.2V and 2200mAh (16Wh) and a four-level LED indicator and touch-sensitive Power Check button, to make monitoring charge levels without inserting the battery into the camera easier, and USB-C 5V input.

While pricing has yet to be finalized, SWIT expects PowerCell batteries to cost around 40% less than OEM equivalents, typically priced at €70–80 ($75–85). This would position them in the €45–50 ($48–53) range. Availability details are still to come.
