Lomography Announces LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200 Film

Lomography has introduced a new color negative film, the LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200, described as a limited-edition 2025 formulation and designed to reproduce natural colors and maintain the aesthetic characteristics associated with analog photography. It is the latest addition to the company’s LomoChrome line, which already includes Color ’92, Turquoise, Purple, and Metropolis films.

The LomoChrome Classicolor 200 is a medium-speed color negative film intended to deliver balanced tones across a range of lighting conditions. The Austrian company indicates that the film produces warm skin tones, vibrant reds and yellows, and more subdued blues and greens. In bright light, it is said to create a gentle luminosity with a soft golden quality in the highlights, while in low light or overcast environments, the palette shifts toward warmer, earthier hues.

According to Lomography, the film’s color layering process is handcrafted, leading to subtle variations between production batches. The company also notes that this manufacturing approach contributes to the film’s distinctive color character and a medium grain structure that maintains fine detail.

The LomoChrome Classicolor 200 has an ISO sensitivity of 200 and uses the standard C-41 development process. It is DX-coded for compatibility with automatic film cameras, and is described by the company as versatile and suitable for portraiture, everyday photography, and travel, emphasizing its adaptability to both bright and dim lighting conditions.

The announcement follows Kodak’s recent introduction of its Kodacolor 100 and 200 films, marking an unusually active period for color film releases. The LomoChrome Classicolor 200 expands Lomography’s range of color negative options, positioned alongside its CN100, CN400, and CN800 films as part of the brand’s ongoing development of new analog materials.
