ProGrade Digital Introduces PG25 Pro Thunderbolt 5 Dock
American company ProGrade Digital has introduced the PG25 Pro Thunderbolt 5 Dock, a professional-grade desktop hub developed for creative and technical users who require fast, stable, and versatile connectivity in demanding workflows. Built on the latest Thunderbolt 5 standard, the dock delivers data transfer rates of up to 80Gb/s and supports configurations of up to two 8K monitors at 60Hz or three 4K monitors at 144Hz, positioning it as a high-performance solution for data-intensive environments such as video editing, photography, and post-production.
“Files are getting larger and deadlines are getting shorter, which means creators need to work faster and more efficiently than ever,” said Mark Lewis, Chief Marketing Officer. “With Thunderbolt™ 5, the PG25 Pro Dock delivers breakthrough bandwidth and a more seamless, customizable workflow—bringing order, speed, and uninterrupted ingest to the desktop.”
As mentioned, the PG25 Pro is equipped with one Thunderbolt 5 upstream port that provides up to 140W charging power, along with three Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports rated at 15W each. Additional connectivity options include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, both offering 10Gb/s transfer speeds. The dock also features a 2.5GbE Ethernet port for high-speed network access and a 3.5mm audio jack for peripheral audio devices. Power is supplied through an external source, emphasizing its suitability for fixed desktop setups rather than portable use.
A key aspect of the PG25 Pro’s design is its magnetic modular structure. The top surface includes a magnetic base that can securely hold up to two ProGrade Digital readers, SSDs, or the PG20 Pro Hub, thus allowing users to expand their workstation efficiently without increasing cable clutter. The dock also incorporates a patented magnetic mounting base and is supplied with an adhesive metal plate that enables installation on various work surfaces. A Thunderbolt 5–certified high-speed cable is included to guarantee maximum data throughput and performance consistency.
The dock is compatible with Windows 11+ and macOS 11+, as well as Thunderbolt 4, USB 4.0, and other USB-C devices. For security and stability, it includes both Kensington Standard and Nano lock slots. Each unit is serialized for support purposes and backed by a two-year warranty. The retail price is set at $299.99.
ProGrade Digital is also expanding its accessory lineup with the introduction of two HDMI adapter cables designed to complement the PG25 Pro. The 4K HDMI 2.0 Adapter Cable supports resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz, while the 8K HDMI 2.1 Adapter Cable supports up to 8K at 60Hz. Priced at $29.99 and $39.99 respectively, both cables enable direct connectivity between high-resolution displays and the dock’s USB-C ports.
