Satechi has introduced the OntheGo 7-in-1 Multiport Adapter, a compact USB-C hub designed to provide a broad set of ports in a small, puck-shaped form factor. The device measures roughly 66 × 66 × 25 mm and weighs about 68 grams, with a coiled USB-C host cable that wraps around the body when not in use. A magnetic mounting system allows it to attach directly to MagSafe-compatible smartphones and other Qi2-supported devices, while an included 3M adhesive ring provides a mounting solution for laptops, tablets, and phones that lack built-in magnets.

The adapter integrates seven ports: HDMI 2.0 capable of 4K output at 60 Hz, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports rated at up to 5 Gb/s, SD and microSD card readers supporting UHS-I speeds up to 104 MB/s and capacities up to 2 TB, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB-C Power Delivery input supporting up to 100 W passthrough (with up to 80 W output to the host). The USB-C port is limited to power only and does not support data transfer.

The American company positions the adapter as compatible with a wide range of USB-C devices, including Apple laptops from the M1 generation onward, recent iPad Pro and iPad Air models, and iPhones from the 15 Pro through the 17 Pro series. It also works with Windows PCs, ChromeOS devices, and Android hardware such as the Pixelbook and Samsung’s recent smartphones, provided they support USB-C data. The magnetic attachment makes it possible to mount the hub directly behind a phone while recording or transferring footage, though users of non-MagSafe devices must rely on the adhesive ring.

The adapter offers enough connectivity for routine tasks such as transferring media, attaching peripherals, presenting via HDMI, or establishing a wired network connection when Wi-Fi is unavailable. Its functionality is limited by the absence of a USB-C data port and an analog audio jack, but it remains a compact option for users who require multiple ports without carrying a full-sized docking station.
