How do I enter the competition?

Entering in the competition is easy: go to our home page, and click on the Join the Contest button and the page will automatically open where you can register for the competition and upload your images:

What are the photo specifications for uploading?

Images should be in the highest-quality JPEG, preferably saved in sRGB color model. The file name should be under 50 characters. We suggest to upload images sized a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side (2000 pixels is even better). The system cannot accept files that are larger than 5000 pixels. Please ensure that your images are no larger than 4MB size and are in JPEG format. Both colour and black-and-white photos are allowed.

Can I submit my images on a CD, URL Link, or in a book?

No. All images must be submitted online, via the website.

I have images in original negatives; how can I enter these?

These will need to be scanned into a digital file and then uploaded online via the website.

I am unable to upload my images; what should I do?

Please ensure that your images are no larger than 4MB size, are in JPEG format, and not contain any special characters in the filename. It may be that your images are too large for the local Internet connection and we suggest that you resize all the pictures and try again. If you continue to have problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Can images take on camera phones be entered into the competition?

Yes they can. Please ensure that your images following all the photo specifications as noted above.

Should I submit diptychs as one image or two?

You should submit diptychs as one image. But keep in mind the maximum pixel length of 5000.

How much does it cost to enter the 2026 exibart street photography contest?

The 2026 exibart street photography contest has two categories: best single photo and best series. Best Single Photo submission fee is €10. Best Series submission fee is €49 for each series submitted, regardless of the number of photos.

We are two photographers working as a team. Can we enter one submission?

Yes, but please provide background info on both of you in the bio so we know you are a team.

Are there restrictions on when a photo was taken?

No, there are no time-based restrictions concerning when a photo was taken.

Are there other ethical guidelines which should be followed?

Images that purport to be “news” photographs, reporting, photojournalism, or documentary photography, should comply with the ethical guidelines of the National Press Photographers Association in general, as well as those proposed by UNICEF for ethical reporting on children. No people or objects may be added, rearranged, reversed, distorted or removed from such photographs.

Is judging anonymous?

Yes, we respect the integrity of the photographers and therefore judging is anonymous. Judges will not know the names of any of the entrants.

If an entry/account is featured in the Competition Gallery, or on Facebook, does it affect the final judging?

No. Every day, our editors look at competition submissions and select some for inclusion in social media channels. The jurors do not begin looking at work until after the competition deadline has passed. The jurors’ decision is independent of exibart street contest’s editorial selections.

Should there be a watermark added to the images entered into the contest?

No. All images must be clear of any watermark information so that the photographer’s identity is not revealed by the image. Any images that do contain photographer names, logos, or identifying information will be disqualified.

Would like to submit two series of photographs. Can I upload both series as one submission, or do I need to make two submissions?

We suggest you make one submission for each series. You may participate as many times as you wish.

How many times can I enter?

You can participate as many times as you wish.

Are there restrictions if I’ve submitted a photo to a different competition?

You are free to submit photographs that you have submitted to different competitions — or even previous exibart street contests. However, submissions that have been awarded in a previous exibart street competition are not eligible to win prizes in subsequent competitions. Submissions that have been selected as finalists in previous competitions are not eligible to win prizes in subsequent competitions.

Can you explain the usage rights if I enter a competition?

All entrants agree that all photograph(s) submitted to the competition may be reproduced (with photographer copyright credit) and used to conduct and promote exibartstreet.com competitions.
You grant exibartstreet.com the right to use submitted photographs in the framework of such promotional activities.

When are the prizes awarded, and when do the winners get featured in exibart street magazine?

Judging will be completed sometime after the competition deadline and winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
You will be notified via email during the judging process if you have been selected to receive a prize.

Can I change my images after submission?

No. Once submission is completed, images cannot be changed.

How can I find out the results of the competition?

Finalists will be individually notified by email after the judging process.
Winners will be announced at a later date.
