Chinese company Llano has introduced the R604, a compact multi-format card reader designed to support data transfer across several types of memory media commonly used in photography and video production. The device is built to handle workflows involving large files and multiple storage formats within a single unit.

The R604 supports CFexpress Type A, CFexpress Type B, UHS-II SD, and microSD cards. It connects through a USB-C interface based on the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard, with a maximum theoretical transfer speed of 10Gbps. The reader is capable of accessing up to four memory cards simultaneously, although CFexpress Type A and Type B cards cannot be used at the same time due to power constraints.

To address the higher power requirements of CFexpress Type B media, the device includes an auxiliary power system intended to maintain stable operation during high-speed transfers. The reader supports memory capacities of up to 2TB, which aligns with the needs of users working with high-resolution images or video files.

The R604 is constructed from a combination of aluminum alloy and ABS plastic. The design incorporates a dual cooling structure intended to manage heat during extended use, and  additional internal components include fuse resistors, safety circuits, and integrated control chips aimed at reducing the risk of short circuits and data loss. The external design includes integrated RGB lighting.
