DJI Launches Lito Series Entry-Level Drones
DJI has released the Lito series, a new line of compact drones positioned in the entry-level segment and composed of two models, the Lito 1 and Lito X1. Both devices are designed around a lightweight, foldable structure that keeps them within the sub-250 gram category, aligning with less restrictive regulatory classes in many regions.
The two models share a similar design approach, with inward-folding arms, a three-axis stabilized gimbal, and an integrated omnidirectional obstacle sensing system. This system operates across multiple directions and is designed to assist with navigation in complex environments. The Lito X1 extends this capability with an additional forward-facing LiDAR sensor, intended to improve detection accuracy, particularly in low-light conditions.
The camera systems differ between the two variants. The Lito 1 is equipped with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels, paired with an f/1.8 aperture: it supports still image capture at high resolution and video recording up to 4K. The Lito X1 uses a larger 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, also with 48 megapixels, combined with an f/1.7 aperture, allowing for higher dynamic range, with support for HDR video and 10-bit D-Log M recording, extending its suitability for more advanced workflows.
Both drones incorporate automated flight and shooting modes, including subject tracking and pre-programmed movement sequences., functions designed to reduce manual control requirements while maintaining consistent framing and motion. Tracking performance is rated for moderate speeds, allowing the drone to follow moving subjects in typical outdoor scenarios.
Transmission and connectivity rely on the Chinese company’s established wireless systems, with support for modern frequency bands and mobile device integration. File transfer is handled via Wi-Fi, with relatively high transfer speeds, and the Lito X1 includes internal storage alongside support for external media.
Battery performance is rated at up to approximately 36 minutes of flight time under standard conditions. The drones also include wind resistance capabilities designed to maintain stability in moderate outdoor environments.

The Lito series is positioned below DJI’s more advanced consumer drones, with pricing aligned to the entry-level segment. At launch, the DJI Lito 1 starts at around €339 with the standard RC-N3 controller, while the more advanced Lito X1 starts at approximately €419 in its base configuration. Both models are also offered in bundled configurations: the Lito 1 Fly More Combo, which includes additional batteries and accessories, is priced at around €429, while the Lito X1 Fly More Combo ranges from roughly €579 with the RC-N3 controller to about €679 with the DJI RC 2 controller, with higher-tier “Plus” bundles extending beyond that range . Availability varies by region, with distribution influenced by local regulatory conditions, particularly in the United States, where current restrictions continue to limit official market access.
