Vivo Introduces X Fold6 in Europe

Vivo has introduced the X Fold6 to international markets, expanding the availability of its latest book-style foldable smartphone following its initial launch in China. The device combines a large folding display with a triple-camera system developed in collaboration with Zeiss, placing particular emphasis on photographic capabilities that are often reduced in foldable designs.

The X Fold6 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It features a 6.51-inch external LTPO AMOLED display and an 8.02-inch internal folding panel, both supporting adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz and a claimed peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The European version runs OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17, with multitasking functions that allow several applications to operate simultaneously.

The rear camera system is centered on a 200-megapixel main camera using a Type 1/1.4 Samsung HPB sensor, optical image stabilization and a 23mm-equivalent f/1.7 lens. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 15mm-equivalent f/2.1 lens and a 50-megapixel Zeiss APO periscope telephoto camera. The latter uses a Type 1/1.95 sensor and a 70mm-equivalent f/2.6 lens, providing approximately 3x optical magnification.

The telephoto camera also supports close-up photography and computational zoom, with Vivo offering digital magnification up to 100x. In addition, the X Fold6 is compatible with the company’s Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2, an external optical accessory that extends the available focal length to approximately 200mm equivalent. This configuration can be used across several photographic modes, including portraits, landscapes and video recording.

Vivo has incorporated additional imaging functions, including dedicated portrait processing, a Stage Mode for photographing distant subjects and 4K video recording at up to 60 fps with Dolby Vision. Two 20-megapixel front-facing cameras are integrated into the external and internal displays, while the folding design also allows the rear cameras to be used for self-portraits with the external screen acting as a viewfinder.

Despite its relatively extensive camera system, the X Fold6 measures approximately 4.4mm thick when unfolded and weighs between 228 and 235 grams, depending on the finish. The European model includes a 6,900mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, alongside IPX8 and IPX9 water-resistance ratings and IP5X dust protection.
