I was born on the volcanic island, Fogo, Cape Verde, in the middle of the Atlantic. Inspired by oceans and mountains, I have been passionate about photography since the age of 15. I completed a course in photography in Toulouse, France in 1992, and in 2001 a course in Photojournalism in Portugal. For me, photography represents art and symbolizes my being as a person and a citizen, giving life to my photos while letting others interpret my "click." I am most drawn to the contrast of light and human expressions.
