Dorin Mihai is a Romanian-born photographer, photojournalist and documentary filmmaker based in Rimini, Italy. Since 2013, his work has moved between photojournalism, stage photography and long-term documentary projects, with a particular focus on people, communities and the social transformations shaping contemporary life. Since 2022, he has worked as a photojournalist for the Italian news agency ANSA, covering events across Italy, from politics and current affairs to culture and social issues. Alongside his editorial work, he develops long-term documentary projects, including *Roots*, begun in 2015 to document the changing social and cultural landscape of rural Romania and the gradual disappearance of local traditions and heritage. In 2018, he co-founded AYZOH!, an organisation dedicated to documentary photography and visual storytelling, focusing on marginalised communities and stories that often remain beyond the mainstream gaze. His photographic practice rests on a simple principle: listen with your eyes.
