Johannes Groht studied photo design in Hamburg in the 1980s. He works as a freelance graphic designer and photographer in Hamburg and has published a number of books, both with well-known publishers and self-published. After extensive work on the prehistoric cultures of Europe, he developed his "cosmographies", which deal with the transitions between nature and culture in an experimental way. For some years now, he has again been intensively involved with classical black-and-white photography, especially when travelling.
