amaran Verge Series Targets Desk-Based Creators

Chinese company amaran has launched two new lighting solutions—the Verge and Verge Max—designed specifically for content creators working from desks or in small spaces. These LED lights provide soft, eye-friendly illumination using edge-lit technology, making them ideal for streaming, video calls, vlogging and other forms of digital content creation where space and visual comfort are key considerations.

The amaran Verge is a compact, rectangular, bi-color LED panel that delivers a soft, evenly diffused light similar to a small softbox but in a much slimmer, lightweight form factor. With a colour temperature range from 2700K to 6500K and brightness output of 822 lux at 1 meter (5600K), it offers high light quality in a device measuring just 30 x 22 x 2.7 cm and weighing 900 grams. The Verge supports onboard and wireless control via the amaran app, is compatible with Stream Deck, and features front-facing controls for easier brightness and temperature adjustments. The panel also includes seven built-in lighting effects such as lightning, strobe and fire, and operates silently and flicker-free thanks to passive cooling. It comes with a 30W USB-C PD power adapter and offers mounting flexibility via a standard 1/4″-20 thread or the Verge Lock system, with optional accessories like a desk clamp or tabletop stand.

The Verge Max, on the other hand, is a larger circular panel measuring 62 x 60 x 3.5 centimeters, designed to emulate the soft, flattering output of a traditional COB softbox setup without the usual bulk. It offers higher brightness at 1955 lux from 1 meter and up to 6455 lumens, making it suitable for more advanced or demanding setups. Like its smaller counterpart, the Verge Max has a 2700K to 6500K colour temperature range, high color accuracy (CRI 96, TLCI 98), seven lighting effects, and RG0 certification for maximum eye safety. It is also fully controllable via its physical interface, the amaran app or through integration with Stream Deck, and features a built-in display for real-time feedback on light settings.

Designed with compact workspaces in mind, the Verge Max includes a desk clamp mount for overhead or angled lighting and supports baby pin stand mounting via an optional adapter. A light control grid is also available separately to further refine light direction and prevent spill. The Verge Max runs on USB-C PD power and ships with a 65W adapter and cable.

Both models are now available, with the Verge priced at $79 USD and the Verge Max at $259 USD. Accessories such as desk stands, clamps, adapters and the light control grid are sold separately.
