Camera Foundry Releases CineBack Quick Release Module
American company Camera Foundry has released the CineBack Quick Release Module, an accessory designed to expand the functionality of its CineBack cage system. The module introduces a quick-release mechanism that allows users to detach or reattach their camera with a single action, reducing the time needed to switch between handheld and fully-rigged configurations.
The module is based on the Falcam F38 quick-release standard and is compatible with all previous CineBack models. It provides several levels of mounting security: at its most basic, it can function solely as a quick-release connector, minimizing bulk and weight for handheld or run-and-gun use. For more demanding conditions, it incorporates a built-in Allen key stored inside the base plate, which allows for bolt-down mounting while retaining a flat surface for additional accessories. Finally, a third option employs custom-designed quick-release knobs that can be tightened or loosened without tools, combining the strength of traditional fasteners with the convenience of tool-free operation.
The construction includes hardware specifically designed for this system, with new components such as converted bolts, knob assemblies and thread collars. Due to the added height of the mechanism, longer screws than those used in standard CineBack setups are required. The system also maintains compatibility with accessories such as Sony’s XLR handle for the FX3 and FX30, and when paired with Camera Foundry’s handle extension kit, it allows both the handle and quick-release functionality to be used simultaneously.
The CineBack Quick Release Module is priced at $35.99, while the complete CineBack cage for Sony FX3 and FX30 costs $349.99. Additional accessories, such as the FALCAM F38 Combo Kit, are available at $42.99.
