DJI Introduces Osmo Nano Ultra-Light 4K Action Camera
DJI has introduced the Osmo Nano, a compact and lightweight wearable camera designed for a range of action footage. The camera features a 1/1.3-inch image sensor, capable of capturing 4K video at up to 60 frames per second (fps), along with 4K 120fps for slow-motion footage. It also supports 10-bit color and the D-Log M color profile, providing an enhanced color gamut and dynamic range of 13.5 stops, a notable feature for its size. The Osmo Nano weighs just 52 grams and measures 57 x 29 x 28 mm, making it highly portable and versatile for mounting on helmets, hats, headbands and more.
As mentioned, the camera is designed for outdoor and water-based activities, being waterproof up to 10 meters without the need for additional housing. It can include an optional Multifunctional Vision Dock, which adds an OLED touchscreen display for remote control, a charging station and a file transfer hub. The dock allows for fast charging of the camera, reaching 80% battery capacity in just 20 minutes: with a full charge, the Osmo Nano can record up to 200 minutes of 1080p video at 24 fps or 60 minutes of 4K video at 30 fps.
The Osmo Nano is equipped with DJI’s HorizonBalancing and RockSteady 3.0 stabilization technologies, which help reduce camera shake and maintain smooth footage, though these features are only compatible with 4K60 video. The camera also offers a variety of creative shooting modes, including SuperNight for improved low-light performance, hyperlapse, time-lapse and gesture control. In addition to video, it is capable of capturing 35MP still images. For audio, the camera comes with dual microphones for stereo recording and it can connect directly to two DJI microphone transmitters for improved sound capture.
The Osmo Nano’s storage options include models with either 64GB or 128GB of internal memory. For additional storage, the Multifunctional Vision Dock features a microSD card slot, supporting high-speed transfers up to 600 MB/s via its USB-C port. The camera’s compact design also allows for flexible mounting options, as it can be attached in either direction, making it suitable for both selfie and point-of-view shots.
