Godox Launches KNOWLED MG6K High-Power LED for Pro Film Lighting
Godox has introduced the KNOWLED MG6K, a high-powered LED lighting fixture aimed at professional film and television production.
The MG6K weighs 24.5 kg without the yoke and 28 kg with it, allowing for one-person installation, and consumes 4,300W. It has a colour temperature range from 2800K to 10,000K, combined with a wide ±100% green/magenta shift, allowing good flexibility for a broad range of creative lighting scenarios. According to the manufacturer, the light is seamlessly blendable with HMI fixtures on set.
When equipped with Aa MGR30 reflector, the MG6K outputs 41,000 lux at 5600K from five meters. The MGR15 reflector, instead, allows to push IT further, reaching up to 132,000 lux under the same conditions. The unit includes an air-cooled system that improves heat dissipation by up to 75%, making it suited for long hours of high-load operation. It also features IP54 weather sealing for use in challenging environments and supports flicker-free output suitable for high-speed cinematography.
One interesting feature of the KNOWLED MG6K is its precise dimming capability, adjustable in 0.1% increments, which enables smooth transitions and refined control over light and shadow. The light is also compatible with Godox’s G-mount accessory ecosystem, including the BeamLight Max 60/90 for narrow-angle cinematic beams, a 7-foot lantern softbox for wide-area soft lighting, and the motorized ZB03 three-light bracket for remote angle control.
For connectivity, it supports DMX, CRMX, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and can be controlled through the Godox KNOWLED app, giving crews a wide range of options for adjusting settings on set.
The KNOWLED MG6K is currently available online on backorder, though no pricing has been disclosed yet.
