Manfrotto Introduces ONE Hybrid Tripod for Photo and Video Applications

Italian company Manfrotto has introduced the ONE Hybrid Tripod, a new support system engineered to meet the dual demands of photography and videography. Available in aluminum or carbon fiber models, the tripod is presented as a single solution for hybrid content creators, particularly those using mirrorless cameras. “The ONE Hybrid Tripod is the result of an extensive user research program involving professionals across Europe, Asia, and the U.S.,” says Paolo Frison, Manfrotto Program Director. “From field tests with mirrorless creators in Tokyo and Los Angeles to workshops with our top partners in Europe and Asia, every feature, from the new leg shape to the XCHANGE system, was driven by real-world feedback. We didn’t just design for hybrid creators; we designed with them.”

Among the tripod’s new features aimed at improving efficiency and versatility there is the XTEND mechanism, which enables simultaneous deployment of all leg sections with one action, reducing setup time. The tripod’s legs depart from traditional cylindrical designs, instead adopting a flatter profile that increases torsional rigidity and improves stability, particularly useful for smooth video panning, an approach reminiscent of the form factor seen in other compact tripods such as Peak Design’s Travel Tripod.

At the core of the ONE Hybrid is a newly engineered center column that performs multiple functions: it can be tilted horizontally for overhead and lay-flat photography using the Q90 mechanism, adjusted vertically for precise framing or completely removed for ground-level shooting. Levelling adjustments are also possible without repositioning the legs, making it suitable for uneven terrain or quick reframing. Optional column modules extend the vertical range further if needed.

Another integral feature is the XCHANGE quick release system, which allows for rapid swapping of tripod heads, sliders, or other accessories without requiring additional tools. The system is compatible with the new 500X Fluid Video Head, which incorporates a fluid drag mechanism for smooth pan and tilt operations and an adjustable counterbalance optimized for camera systems weighing approximately 2.4 kilograms. Moreover, a hinged camera plate permits fast changes between portrait and landscape orientation.

The tripod’s design blends traits often found in both stills and video tripods. The aluminum version weighs 3.55 kilograms, while the carbon fiber model weighs 3.15 kilograms. Both fold to a length of 70 centimeters, excluding the head, and support a maximum load of 15 kilograms—though this decreases to 7 kilograms when the center column is used in the 90-degree configuration. Maximum height reaches 170 centimeters, and the minimum is 19 centimeters.

The ONE Hybrid Tripod is available as a stand-alone unit or in a kit that includes the 500X Fluid Head. Pricing for the aluminum version is set at $500 for the tripod alone and $680 with the head. The carbon fiber version is priced at $720 or $880 with the head included. Manfrotto also offers XCHANGE-compatible components separately for use with existing supports.
