Moment Presents Upgraded Macro II Lenses for Smartphones

American company Moment has released updated versions of its Macro lenses for smartphones, introducing the Moment Macro II series with redesigned optics intended to improve image sharpness and overall quality for close-up photography.

The new 75mm T-Series Macro II lens is compatible with Moment Camera Cases that use the T-Series drop-in mount, which is available for a range of devices including iPhone 14 and newer, Google Pixel 7 and newer, and Samsung Galaxy S22 and newer. The lens supports 67mm filters through a removable front ring, allowing the use of polarizers or ND filters.

The 75mm Macro II lens allows close focusing from approximately 10 to 15 centimeters from the subject and provides a 35mm equivalent focal length of 75mm. It measures 33.4 millimeters in length, weighs 114.5 grams, and incorporates multi-layer coatings to reduce flare and internal reflections. The company emphasizes that this lens offers optical characteristics similar to traditional cameras, providing natural depth of field and focus falloff, in contrast to software-based smartphone macro modes.

In addition to the 75mm model, Moment has released the 10x Macro II lens, which offers an even closer working distance of approximately 2,50 cm. This lens uses hand-polished multi-element glass to achieve edge-to-edge sharpness and includes a diffusion hood to mitigate harsh shadows common in extreme close-ups.

Both lenses require a compatible Moment case for mounting and are priced at $150 individually, with a bundle available for $255. Existing Moment Macro lens owners may trade in their previous versions for up to $50 in store credit.
