Mutiny Introduces QD Mounts for Lightweight Camera Systems
American company Mutiny has introduced the RANGER QD quick-detach mounts, designed for use with compact and mirrorless cameras such as the Sony FX3, FX30, FX6, RED KOMODO, Nikon Z8/Z9, Z-CAM, Kinefinity models or Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras.
Each mount includes a 1/4″-20 screw and a removable anti-twist locating pin, allowing for either a swiveling tilt configuration or a fixed locked position when secured to a camera cage. On certain camera bodies, such as the Sony FX3 and FX30, the mounts can be installed directly without the need for a cage.
Each set includes two mounts, two custom swivel screws, two anti-twist pins, two QD (quick detach) D-loop swivels and the necessary hex keys for installation. Each QD unit is rated to support over 100 pounds, making it suitable for handling camera rigs under typical shooting conditions. While originally developed for photography equipment, QD mounts are increasingly used in video workflows for both strap attachment and secure rigging with rope or cable.
The Mutiny RANGER QD Mounts, which include two QD swivels, are priced at $35 USD.
