Neewer Releases Q6 High-Power Outdoor Flash
Neewer has unveiled the Q6, a powerful 600Ws outdoor studio flash designed to handle intense lighting scenarios, such as bright midday sun, and deliver reliable performance across demanding photo and video shoots. With a consistent 5700K colour temperature and a quartz flash tube rated for up to 300,000 flashes, the Q6 combines high output with durability and colour accuracy.
The Q6 weighs 3 kilograms and measures 195 x 185 x 170mm. Despite its portability offers flash durations as short as 1/10,989 seconds and fast recycling times from 0.01 to 0.9 seconds, allowing photographers to freeze fast-moving subjects or work with continuous bursts. A 30W bi-color LED modeling lamp ranging from 2700K to 6500K, with high CRI and TLCI ratings (95 and 98 respectively), provides real-time lighting previews or can serve as a continuous light source for video.
The Q6 is fully compatible with major TTL systems including Canon E-TTL, Nikon i-TTL, Sony TTL, and Fujifilm TTL, and supports both Manual and Multi modes. Creative features include high-speed sync up to 1/8000s, front and rear curtain sync, a delay function ranging from 0.01 to 30 seconds, a stroboscopic mode (1–100Hz up to 100 flashes) and a unique masking mode that enables selective subject and background exposure for compositing work.
Control options are extensive: in addition to its dual TFT color screens and tactile onboard interface, the Q6 can be managed remotely via a smartphone app or Neewer’s proprietary QZ and QPRO wireless triggers (sold separately), utilizing a built-in 2.4GHz system with support for five groups and 32 channels at distances up to 100 meters. A 3.5mm sync port is also included for additional compatibility.
The device is powered by a 28.8V/3000mAh lithium-ion battery, providing up to 400 full-power flashes per charge, and can also be operated via a DC power port. Its Bowens mount ensures compatibility with light modifiers such as softboxes, beauty dishes, reflectors and snoots, while a silent fan keeps internal components cool during extended sessions.
The Neewer Q6 is now available for pre-order at an introductory price of $499.99, discounted from its regular $699.99 retail price. Shipments are expected to begin on May 18, though the company notes that pricing in the U.S. may increase due to potential tariff changes.
