Viltrox Launches Three New 7-Inch On-Camera Monitors

Chinese manufacturer Viltrox, known primarily for its affordable camera lenses, has expanded its product range with the release of three new touchscreen monitors: the DC-A1, DC-L2, and DC-L1. The 7-inch on-camera monitors are designed to offer budget-friendly monitoring tools for creators at various levels.

Leading the lineup is the Viltrox DC-A1, a high-brightness 1920 × 1080 Full HD touchscreen monitor. With a peak brightness of 2800 nits, it is well-suited for use in bright outdoor environments. The panel supports HDMI 2.0 input and loop-through output up to DCI 4K at 60Hz, ensuring high-resolution monitoring. It features a 170-degree viewing angle, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and full support for essential monitoring tools such as focus peaking, waveform scopes, zebras, false colour and custom 3D LUTs. The DC-A1 weighs 348 grams and includes a detachable sun hood, a tilt-and-swivel mount, and a custom screen protector. Power is supplied via NP-F series batteries, USB-C, or DC input. An auto-adjusting fan ensures quiet cooling during extended use, and the integrated gyroscope allows for automatic screen orientation adjustment.

Slightly lower in the range is the Viltrox DC-L2, which also features a 7-inch touchscreen but with a resolution of 1280 × 800 and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The DC-L2 supports both HDMI and 3G-SDI input and output up to 4K at 30Hz, making it compatible with a wide variety of cameras and broadcast equipment. Like the A1, it includes monitoring functions such as waveform, histogram, false colour, focus peaking, and LUT loading. It is Rec.709 compliant and covers nearly 100% of the sRGB colour space. The DC-L2 also features a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 60Hz refresh rate, and an 8-bit IPS display. It includes user-assignable shortcut keys and a gyroscope for automatic image flipping. Power options include NP-F batteries, USB-C, and DC input. The monitor ships with an NP-F550 battery, cables, a sun hood, a screen protector, and a storage pouch.

At the entry level, the Viltrox DC-L1 offers the same display specifications and feature set as the L2, but without SDI connectivity. It is designed for beginner to mid-tier creators who primarily rely on HDMI connections. Like its counterparts, it includes essential monitoring tools and supports up to 20 custom 3D LUTs. Powering and mounting options remain consistent across the lineup, with support for NP-F series batteries, USB-C, and DC input, as well as mounting via standard 1/4″-20 threads.

The Viltrox DC-A1 is positioned as the flagship of the range, priced at $278. The DC-L2 follows at $198, while the DC-L1 is the most affordable option at $158. All three monitors are now available to order from Viltrox and select retailers.
