CHASING PALERMO – Street Photography Workshop with Julie Hrudová

Palermofoto, a historic photography school active on both the Italian and international scene since 1975, presents CHASING PALERMO, an intensive street photography workshop led by professional photographer Julie Hrudová. The course will take place from February 13 to 15, 2026, in the heart of Palermo’s historic center—a crossroads of cultures, everyday gestures, and urban contrasts that offers a unique setting for exploring visual storytelling.
Over three days, participants will have the opportunity to develop a personal approach to street photography, learning how to identify potential stories in public spaces, observe everyday life, and transform fleeting moments into meaningful images. The program alternates guided photo walks, critical feedback sessions on participants’ work, and an evening street photography practice, making use of the city’s night lights.
The workshop is designed for those who wish to refine their visual awareness, ability to read the street, and technical responsiveness, while also developing a more confident and mindful way of moving around subjects and urban situations. Group critiques and individual feedback help participants better understand their results and progressively strengthen their visual language.

Program highlights:

  • February 13 – Morning: introduction and presentation | Afternoon: photo walk.
  • February 14 – Morning: feedback session | Afternoon/evening: street photography in low-light conditions.
  • February 15 – Morning: feedback and discussion | Afternoon: street photography practice and workshop closing.

With limited places to ensure personalized guidance, the workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore street photography under the direction of an internationally active photographer.
