DJI Teases Osmo 360 II With Repleaceable Lenses

DJI has announced the Osmo 360 II, the second generation of its panoramic 360-degree camera, launched in China on August 13, 2026, at a price of 3,299 yuan — approximately $460. The camera does not currently have a US store page, a consequence of DJI’s ongoing presence on the FCC Covered List, which prevents the company from legally selling newly authorized products through US retail channels. The Insta360 X6, a direct competitor, launched 23 hours earlier at $699.99 and is available in the United States.

The core specification of the Osmo 360 II is native 8K60 panoramic video recording, at a resolution of 7,680 × 3,840 pixels, with a claimed dynamic range of 14.5 stops in standard mode and 13.5 stops in D-Log M. The camera uses a 1-inch class sensor — a meaningful step up from the smaller sensors typical of the 360-degree camera category — and features user-replaceable lenses treated with an ion sputtering coating for durability. Internal storage is 105GB, unchanged from the first generation, with a microSD slot also present. Panoramic footage is recorded in DJI’s OSV format; flat exports use MP4 HEVC.

Additional recording modes extend the camera’s versatility. A slow-motion mode captures 4K at 240fps in panoramic format, yielding up to 8x playback reduction. DJI Studio software can apply AI frame interpolation to native 8K60 footage to produce a result rated at the equivalent of 8K480, though this is a computational process rather than a native camera output. A single-lens mode records at up to 4K120 in ultra-wide, and the camera is capable of switching between lenses mid-recording at up to 4K60 without interrupting the file. A subject-tracking mode keeps a subject centered in the spherical frame and exports a flat 4K30 video automatically through the DJI Mimo app or DJI Studio.

Battery performance is rated at 100 minutes of continuous 8K30 panoramic recording, or 120 minutes in a long battery life mode — figures unchanged from the original Osmo 360 despite a new 2,150mAh cold-resistant battery, which is also sold separately at 189 yuan. The camera retains compatibility with older Osmo Action battery packs at 1,950 and 1,770mAh. The FCC equipment authorization for the Osmo 360 II was granted on December 21, 2025 — one day before the cutoff date that froze new approvals for DJI hardware — making it technically eligible for US sale, though no US price or product page has been published at the time of writing.

The standard package is priced at 3,299 yuan in China, with bundles including accessories ranging from 3,499 to 4,006 yuan.
