Nikon has introduced the Z5 IIC, a full-frame mirrorless camera derived from the Z5 II but built around a simpler body and a lower price. The new model retains much of the same imaging hardware while removing the electronic viewfinder, second memory card slot and autofocus joystick, with a design aimed more directly at hybrid and video-oriented users.

The Z5 IIC uses a 24.5-megapixel BSI full-frame CMOS sensor paired with Nikon’s EXPEED 7 processor. Five-axis in-body Vibration Reduction is retained, while the autofocus system includes 3D Tracking and automatic subject detection for people, animals and vehicles. Continuous shooting reaches up to 30 fps in the high-speed electronic mode, and Pre-Release Capture can save images recorded before the shutter button is fully pressed.

The removal of the EVF gives the camera a flatter body and reduces its weight to approximately 620 grams with battery and memory card. Composition is handled through a vari-angle rear touchscreen, while storage is provided by a single UHS-II SD card slot. Nikon has also included 15 Scene Modes, a dedicated Imaging Recipes button for applying customizable looks, and an in-camera film-grain function.
