Sirui Unveils Swift Series Full-Frame Lenses
Sirui has announced the Swift series, a new range of compact autofocus prime lenses designed for mirrorless cameras. The lineup initially consists of two models, the Swift 20mm f/2.4 and the Swift 40mm f/2.2, both developed to cover full-frame sensors. The lenses are available for Sony E and L-Mount cameras, as well as Fujifilm X-mount APS-C bodies, and share a similar exterior design, dimensions and control layout.
The two focal lengths address different photographic applications. The 20mm f/2.4 provides an ultra-wide field of view on full-frame cameras, making it suitable for landscapes, architecture and environmental photography. By comparison, the 40mm f/2.2 offers a perspective closer to that of a standard lens, covering general photography, street scenes and portraits. When mounted on Fujifilm APS-C cameras, their equivalent focal lengths become approximately 30mm and 60mm, respectively.
Despite their different optical configurations, both lenses use 11 elements: the 20mm model arranges them in nine groups, including two aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion elements and two high-refractive-index elements. The 40mm version uses eight groups, incorporating one aspherical element and two extra-low dispersion elements. These components are intended to control optical aberrations and maintain image quality within the compact construction.
Both models feature nine-blade aperture diaphragms and STM stepping motors for autofocus, which, according to Sirui, are designed to limit focus breathing during video recording. Manual focusing is also supported through a dedicated ring with a 360-degree rotation range.
The minimum focusing distance differs between the two lenses, measuring 20 centimeters for the 20mm f/2.4 and 40 centimeters for the 40mm f/2.2. Nevertheless, both provide the same maximum reproduction ratio of approximately 1:7.3, meaning neither is intended for close-up macro photography.
Unlike some similarly priced autofocus primes, the Swift lenses incorporate several physical controls. These include a clicked aperture ring with an automatic setting, an AF/MF switch and a customizable function button. The lenses also feature dust- and splash-resistant construction, although Sirui has not specified a formal ingress protection rating.
Their exterior dimensions are almost identical, with a diameter of approximately 69.5mm and lengths ranging from 60 to 62.3mm, depending on the mount. Weight varies between 207 and 215 grams, while both models accept 58mm screw-in filters. A lens hood is also included.
The Sirui Swift 20mm f/2.4 and 40mm f/2.2 are available for preorder at $149 each, with UK pricing set at £129.90. According to PetaPixel, their release is scheduled for November 6, 2026, although some regional distributors indicate broader availability in December.
