About me

I discovered the possibilities of photography at a relatively late age and followed part-time art education until 2006. My original passion is street photography, but gradually the attention also turned to photographic essays, new documentary and conceptual photography. Photography is a fascinating medium to investigate social and cultural reality and to give it new meanings. I mainly observe the surreal and the mystery of everyday reality. I always followed photography closely and with great attention, to such an extent that the need to show it became increasingly greater. I organised exhibitions and events and built 44 Gallery for 10 years, a gallery and centre that helped put contemporary photography on the map, presenting work until 2020 by Belgian and international well known photographers with an unconventional, intriguing and uncomfortable oeuvre, which invites us to look attentively and questions our culture, touching the viewer, emotionally and intellectually. The knowledge and experience gained from this also led me to a circuit of coaching and portfolio reviewing for, among others, BIP Liège, KASK Ghent, Bozar Brussels, Breedbeeld and Musée de la Photographie Charleroi. 44 GALLERY SHOWS & OUT DOOR EVENTS PRESENTATIONS Gerry Johansson, Gunnar Smoliansky, Mimi Plumb, John Divola, John Vink, Ian Berry, Bernard Plossu, Martin Parr, Wolfgang Zurborn, Harvey Benge, Jens Juul, Albert Grøndahl, Aaron McElroy, Stephane Charpentier, Jean-François Lepage, Tim Richmond, Cédric Gerbehaye, Bieke Depoorter, Frederik Buyckx, Isabelle Wenzel, Karel Fonteyne, Etienne Courtois, Max Pinckers, Sanne De Wilde, Nick Hannes, Alexandre Christiaens, Arno Roncada, Wouter Vande Voorde, Paul D`Haese, Bert Danckaert, Filip Dujardin, Gert Jochems, Franky Verdickt, Herman Van den Boom, Julie Van der Vaart, Titus Simoens, Isabel Pateer, Maroesjka Lavigne, Nathalie Nijs, Marloes van der Sloot, Patricia van de Camp, Tom Callemin, Athos Burez, Annelies De Mey, Isabel Devos, Dieter De Lathauwer, Aurore Dal Mas, Enric Montes, Jean-Marc Chapa, Peter Henri Waterschooot, Thomas Vandenberghe, Tom Callemin, Kurt Stockman, Bernd Kleinheisterkamp, Rem Van den Bosch, Danielle Van Zadelhoff, Trees De Mits, Wim Maes, Gianina Urmeneta Ottiker, Dries Segers, Michel Mazonni, Sybren Vanoverberghe, Peter De Bruyne, Koen Broos, Christel Mukeba, Lionel Jusseret, Anne-Sophie Costenoble, Rafa Tanaka Monzo, Marc Schepers, Maarten Marchau, Wim Maes, Ria Verhaeghe, Griet Van de Velde, Dries Segers, Michel Mazonni, Sara Aue Sobol, Marie Sordat, Marine Dricot, David Denil, Nele Van Canneyt, Lieven Herreman and many more.
