About the Author

Andrew Dosunmu is a Nigerian photographer and filmmaker whose rise to prominence in the United States was marked by his contributions to music videos for a diverse array of international artists, including Isaac Hayes, Angie Stone, Tracy Chapman, and Wyclef Jean, among others. In 2011, he directed the drama film “Restless City,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. His subsequent work, “Mother of George,” premiered at Sundance as well and was the Closing Night selection for the Maryland Film Festival in 2013. Dosunmu divides his time between New York City and Lagos, Nigeria.
