AstrHori Unveils the 40mm f/5.6 Lens for FUJIFILM GFX Medium Format Cameras

AstrHori, formerly known as Rockstar, is a Chinese lens maker that recently unveiled the AstrHori 40mm f/5.6, a new, reasonably priced lens for FUJIFILM GFX medium format cameras. On a medium format camera, a 40mm lens (around a 31mm full-frame equivalent) is a fantastic all-purpose lens for shooting landscapes, people on the street, and buildings. The lens also features a sizable focus ring for fine adjustment.

The fully manual lens has seven elements in five groups. It has a 41cm minimum focusing distance and a five-blade aperture diaphragm. It has a 62mm front filter thread with a physical aperture and focus rings.

All of Fujifilm’s GFX camera systems, including the GFX 50S, GFX 50S II, GFX 50R, GFX 100, and GFX 100S, are compatible with the lens, according to AstrHori. Since the lens has no electrical contacts of any kind, the camera won’t get any metadata or focus confirmation information. The lens weighs only 333g and has dimensions of 79mm in diameter by 38mm.

The AstrHori 40mm f/5.6 lens for Fujifilm GFX camera systems is available today for $289. It comes with front and rear lens caps, as well as a dedicated carrying case.
