Camp Snap Releases the Camp Snap 2
Camp Snap has released the Camp Snap 2, a screenless digital point-and-shoot camera that succeeds the original model introduced in 2023. The core concept remains unchanged: the camera intentionally omits a rear display, positioning itself as a device designed for use without immediate review of captured images.
The technical specifications are largely carried over from the first generation. The Camp Snap 2 uses the same 8-megapixel sensor, paired with a 26mm equivalent lens and a fixed aperture of f/11.5. A dual-tone LED flash is built in. The battery is rated at 800mAh and is specified for approximately 500 shots per charge. The camera ships with a pre-installed 4GB microSD card with capacity for around 2,000 images. File transfer requires no dedicated application: connecting the camera via USB-C and opening the Photos app on a computer is sufficient for image import.
The primary changes in the second generation are physical and functional. The body is 15 percent slimmer than its predecessor and available in nine color variants, including a translucent range called Jellies. A dedicated filter button has been added to the rear panel, allowing users to cycle through in-camera processing modes — Standard, Vintage 1 through 3, Analog, and Black and White — without connecting to a computer, which was not possible on the original. A 30.5mm filter thread has been added to the front of the lens, enabling the use of third-party screw-in filters. A standard 1/4″-20 tripod thread has also been integrated into the base of the camera; the shutter mechanism has been redesigned for a faster response time; a sleep mode is included, activated automatically when the camera is left idle: it can be interrupted immediately by pressing the shutter button without draining the battery.

Several features reflect an awareness that the camera is frequently purchased for younger users. The filter button can be locked to prevent accidental mode changes. The microSD card door has been redesigned with a screw-secured pull tab to prevent the card from being removed unintentionally, though the screw can be permanently removed if preferred.
The Camp Snap 2 is now available for $69,95.
