Insta360 has announced the Luna Pro, a single-lens gimbal camera positioned between the standard Luna and the dual-lens Luna Ultra in the company’s lineup, developed in collaboration with Leica. The Luna Pro shares the same primary camera as the Luna Ultra — a Leica Summicron lens paired with a next-generation Type 1 sensor — but omits the secondary 3x optical zoom module of the Ultra. In exchange for this reduction, the Luna Pro is priced at $599.99, compared to the Luna Ultra’s $769.99.

The main camera uses a 20mm equivalent focal length at f/1.8. Video recording reaches 8K at 30fps in Dolby Vision, 4K at 120fps, and 1080p at 240fps. A notable inclusion is native 4K vertical video at 30fps with 6K oversampling — a feature absent from DJI’s current Osmo Pocket lineup. In lieu of a dedicated telephoto module, the Luna Pro offers lossless zoom up to an 80mm equivalent focal length at 4K60fps. Still photography supports 37-megapixel UltraPhotos and a 200-megapixel Scenic Panorama mode.

The color pipeline carries the same Leica profiles as the Luna Ultra — Natural, Vivid, and Chrome — alongside a set of additional cinematic presets, 10-bit I-Log recording, and ACES workflow support for professional color grading. Built-in timecode enables synchronization with other cameras and is compatible with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.

The detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen from the Luna Ultra is retained on the Pro, functioning as a monitor and remote controller with HD transmission up to 20 meters and a built-in microphone. Subject tracking is handled by Deep Track 5.0, supporting Auto Tracking, Active Zoom Tracking, Group Tracking, and Smart Framing. The 1,550mAh battery is rated for approximately four hours of use, with fast charging to 80% in around 23 minutes. Built-in storage is 47GB, with microSD support up to 1TB.
