Kodak Introduces Memo Shot Era MS100 Instant Camera and Label Printer

American company Kodak has introduced the Memo Shot Era MS100, a compact device that combines an instant camera with a thermal photo and label printer. The product takes design inspiration from Kodak’s 35mm film canisters, adopting a cylindrical form factor available in yellow or white. Originally conceived in 2021 as a student design project under the name “Kodak Memory,” the concept was later licensed and developed by Prinics, a South Korean company specializing in printing technologies.

The Memo Shot Era MS100 functions as a two-megapixel digital camera with a 35mm equivalent wide-angle lens, automatic exposure control and a 3:2 aspect ratio and a small LCD screen for framing and reviewing images. Its built-in thermal printer produces monochrome prints measuring 6.86 by 4.57 centimeters, does not require ink and produces durable, smudge-resistant results, though limited to black and white output.

The device also operates as a label printer. Through Bluetooth connectivity, it can also pair with iOS and Android smartphones using the Kodak Memo app allowing users to import photos, add text and incorporate graphic elements such as stickers or icons before printing. Each one-touch cartridge contains up to 30 adhesive-backed sheets of medical-grade, BPA-free paper manufactured in Korea.

In addition to its camera and label-making functions, the Memo Shot Era can serve as a compact photo printer for mobile images. While image resolution is modest, the device can be useful in a range of more playful contexts, including family activities, classrooms and home organization. Its design indeed prioritizes simplicity, with lightweight construction, straightforward controls and a stable grip easily usable by children too.

The Kodak Memo Shot Era MS100 weighs approximately 308 grams, with dimensions of 60 by 150 millimeters. The device, priced at around $50 when bundled with a single paper roll and $70 when packaged with ten rolls, is now available.
