Logitech Acquires Loupedeck

Logitech has acquired Loupedeck. The two companies announced the deal, but the acquisition specifics were kept under wraps. Adding Loupedeck’s product line to Logitech’s existing line of devices geared toward gamers and content creators, including the company’s mice and keyboards, headsets and cameras, streaming accessories, speakers, and more, significantly expands the company’s product portfolio.

In 2016, Loupedeck launched its picture editing console on Indiegogo under the name Loupedeck. In 2018, the business unveiled the follow-up product, Loupedeck+.

“Empowering streamers, creators and gamers is a joint passion of Loupedeck and Logitech. Together we are focused on removing all barriers so they can create, edit and stream without limits,” says Ujesh Desai, general manager of Logitech G. “This acquisition augments Logitech’s product portfolio today and accelerates our software ambitions of enabling keyboards, mice and more to become smarter and contextually aware, creating a better experience for audiences across Logitech.”

“Loupedeck and Logitech share a commitment to creators and streamers and believe that creativity has no boundaries. Joining Logitech allows us to elevate what we are doing to the next level and exponentially broaden our audience and our impact to the creative process,” says Mikko Kesti, Loupedeck’s chief executive officer.

With products like the Loupedeck CT and Loupedeck Live S, Loupedeck has recently expanded its user base to include content producers and streamers. Logitech undoubtedly found the shift toward content producers and streamers to be appealing. According to Logitech’s acquisition announcement, it wants to deliver a premium experience and content creation applications for all types of creators, such as gamers, broadcasters, and other creative professionals. The acquisition of Loupedeck will help increase the utility of Loupedeck devices, according to Logitech and Loupedeck, who also note that the two companies focus on creating close connections between hardware and software. According to Loupedeck, it will still support its users and business associates for the foreseeable future.
