Megadap Announches the First Auto Adapter for Sony E to Nikon Z-Mount

Hong Kong-based lens adapter and accessory manufacturer Megadap has launched the world’s first autofocus adapter for Sony E-mount lenses to be used on the full line up of Nikon Z Mirrorless cameras, including both full-frame and APS-C versions.

The ETZ11 supports a wide variety of both first- and third-party Sony E mount lenses. Specifically, Megadap says it’s tested both automatic and manual shooting with Samyang (Rokinon), Sigma, Sony, Tamron, Voigtlander, and Zeiss lenses. The adapter supports both AF-S and AF-C autofocus capabilities as well as aperture control and in-body image stabilization (IBIS), even with non-chipped manual lenses.

The new aluminum-alloy accessory from Megadap is only 2 millimeters thick and uses a high-quality plating applied to the surface of the device, making it barely noticeable when attached to the Nikon mirrorless systems, but is allegedly very fast and easy to install or remove with the use of a quick-release button on the edge of the adapter.

The company also claims the compact design provides impressive protection to the circuit board and contacts in day-to-day use, ensuring a long life span of the adapter.

Also, the company spent a significant amount of time working on the firmware to ensure it has a much faster-autofocusing speed for compatible lenses compared to competing adapters on the market. This includes a smoother real-time focus tracking of subjects moving in the frame.

The adapter comes with a USB update tool that resembles a plastic clip with electronic contact spots.

The new Megadap Sony E to Nikon Z MF/AF adapter ETZ11 is available now through the company’s online store for $249 and comes with a two-year warranty.
