Motorola Is Expected to Release a Smartphone with 200MP Camera

Motorola has announced it will be releasing a smartphone with a 200MP sensor this July, as appears in a post published to the Chinese social media site Weibo. As is the nature of teasers, the company did not provide much detail other than a brief caption.

“A new era of 200 million images… A new benchmark for image experience that is not limited to parameters, opening the era of 200 million pixels mobile photography. See you in July,” machine-translated.

Considering Motorola has used Samsung sensors in the past, it’s very likely the camera will be powered by Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor. In a separate Weibo post, Motorola also basically confirmed it would use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor in an upcoming device. The post is believed to be hinting at a foldable smartphone expected to be called the Razr 3. While Motorola posts both products together on Weibo, it’s quite possible that they are two separate products that will be announced at or near the same time.
