MS Optics Unveils the New Sonnetar 50mm f/1.3 lens for Leica M-Mount by Mr. Miyazaki

A good ten years after the release of one of his most famous lenses, the Sonnetar 50mm 1.1, Miyazaki san has finally decided to revisit this formula and trim it down to size a little bit. And here is the result, the Sonnetar 50mm 1.3 Slim. In a nutshell, the appeal of Sonnetar is a hybrid lens that boasts top-class high performance among MS Optics lenses with many quirks such as Petz and Varioprasma, and also has a unique depiction of Sonnar.

  • MS Optical original design MS Optical Sonnetar 50/f1.3 rangefinder lens in Leica M mount designed, manufactured, and hand-assembled in Japan by Mr. Sadayasu Miyazaki.
  • 5 elements in 4 groups Sonnar lens design
  • Compact design, weight 123g, 143g with hood (36mm long, 49mm diameter filter thread)
  • 14 blade aperture for smooth and pleasing bokeh (made in Germany by Otto Niemann Feinmechanik GmbH, Berlin)
  • Minimum focus distance: 0.8m
  • All six glass surfaces are multicoated with 97% light transmission
