Nomatic Releases a New Series of Peter McKinnon-Branded Bags

Nomatic has released a brand-new line of Peter McKinnon bags. The Luma Camera Collection by Nomatic x Peter McKinnon is now on Kickstarter and has already surpassed its $100,000 funding goal by over $50,000 at the time of publication. The set comprises a regular backpack as well as two sling bags in various sizes. The Luma Camera Collection, with its updated style and additional color options, claims to give camera bags that don’t look like camera bags.

Starting with the Camera Pack 18L, the backpack is built for mirrorless camera systems, with enough of space for extra lenses, gear, and accessories. It also has a separate laptop sleeve for a 16-inch notebook PC.

There are three access locations on the Camera Pack: side, top, and front. The main compartment features removable and configurable camera gear organizers. The removable divisions allow the bag to be used as a standard backpack with a single huge section. The backpack has several mesh zipper pockets for small accessories and stuff.

The backpack has a roller baggage handle pass-through, an extra shock cord, and exterior pockets for carrying a tripod. A magnetic bottle/tripod design is also included to assist keep gear secure in the side pocket.

The new Camera Pack 18L is two inches slimmer than the Camera Pack 25L and designed from the ground up for current mirrorless camera systems rather than larger DSLR cameras — though DSLR gear may certainly be carried in the new bag. The Camera Pack 18L is made of 900D polyester and has YKK zippers. The backpack is waterproof. It costs $185 for early bird backers and $220 when it goes on sale to the general public.

The new Luma Camera Slings are available in 9L and 12L sizes. The larger sling bag has a shelf divider for safe stacking of belongings and can carry a DJI Mini 4 Pro or a mirrorless camera body with an attached lens plus an extra lens. It comes with two huge detachable partitions.

The Sling 12L is 30% deeper than the Sling 9L, yet both bags can fit a camera, action camera, drone, chargers, microphone, or hard drive. It comes with two little dividers.

Both Sling bags have mesh zipper compartments, a quick access pocket, an adjustable strap, an external carrying system, a handle that also functions as a baggage handle pass-through, and are water resistant. Early bird backers may get the Camera Sling 9L for $95 (a $25 savings off the final retail price). The Camera Sling 12L has a starting price of $115 and will retail for $140.

Luma Camera Pack 18L and Luma Camera Slings are available in black, gray, orange, and mint green. A rain cover, camera tech organizer, memory card case, battery case, accessory case, and shock cords are all available as add-on accessories. All of the new bags are set to go on sale in February 2024.
