TTArtisan Announces AF 24mm f/3.8 Mini Lens
TTArtisan has introduced the AF 24mm f/3.8 Mini, an ultra-compact autofocus pancake lens designed for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. Measuring just 16mm in length and weighing approximately 57 grams, the lens is intended to provide a wide-angle option while adding minimal bulk to the camera body.
adding minimal bulk to the camera body.
The 24mm focal length provides an 84-degree angle of view on full-frame cameras, equivalent to approximately 36mm when mounted on Sony APS-C models. Its optical construction consists of six elements in six groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements. However, the aperture is fixed at f/3.8, meaning it cannot be stopped down to adjust depth of field or exposure.
Despite its small dimensions, the lens incorporates a voice coil motor (VCM) autofocus system, supporting face and eye detection on compatible Sony cameras. Minimum focusing distance is 0.3 meters, while manual focusing is not available. The autofocus system is therefore the only means of adjusting focus, distinguishing the lens from conventional manual-focus pancake designs.
The exterior measures 60mm in diameter and includes a metal mount and an integrated mechanical lens cover. A small lever opens and closes the protective barrier in front of the optical element, eliminating the need for a separate front cap. A USB-C port is also provided for firmware updates.

The AF 24mm f/3.8 Mini follows the approach of other extremely thin autofocus lenses, including the Viltrox AF 28mm f/4.5, although it provides a wider field of view and a slightly larger fixed aperture. Its compact construction involves compromises in exposure control and focusing options, making it primarily suited to everyday photography, travel and lightweight camera setups.
The TTArtisan AF 24mm f/3.8 Mini is available for Sony E-mount cameras at a price of $99 in the United States. European retailers list the lens at approximately €109, with sales beginning in October 2026.
