Viltrox has extended its Air Series prime lens lineup to Leica L-Mount, bringing four full-frame autofocus primes already available for Sony E-mount to a second system. The four lenses — the 14mm f/4, 20mm f/2.8, 40mm f/2.5, and 50mm f/2 — cover a range of focal lengths from ultra-wide to standard.

The Air Series is the Chinese company’s entry-level full-frame line, prioritizing compact dimensions and affordable pricing over maximum optical performance. All four lenses feature native L-Mount communication, meaning they support in-camera lens correction profiles on compatible Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma bodies. The 14mm f/4 covers a 112.6-degree field of view with a minimum focusing distance of 13 centimeters, making it well suited for astrophotography and architectural interiors where close foreground placement is useful. The 20mm f/2.8 is the most versatile of the group in terms of aperture relative to focal length, with a minimum focusing distance of 19 centimeters. The 40mm f/2.5 sits between a wide-angle and a short telephoto, with a 34-centimeter close focus limit, while the 50mm f/2 is the fastest lens in the series and focuses from 51 centimeters.

The L-Mount ecosystem has historically offered fewer affordable third-party autofocus prime options than Sony E-mount, making the addition of four primes in the $168–$199 range a meaningful expansion of the practical choices available to L-Mount users, particularly on compact bodies such as the Panasonic Lumix S9 and the Sigma BF. Viltrox has not announced whether additional Air Series focal lengths will follow for L-Mount.
