XP-Pen Unveils the Artist Pro 16 Display Tablet

The second-generation Artist Pro 16 display tablet for artists and retouchers has been announced by XP-Pen. The redesigned tablet has a 2.5K resolution and a stylus powered by an X3 Pro Smart Chip with world-first 16K pen pressure technology.

Shan Jiang, a world-renowned artist, illustrator, and designer who has previously worked with Apple and Hermes, collaborated on the new portable 16-inch display.

The improved pen pressure sensitivity will address common technical issues found in previous generations of display tablets, such as lag, latency, heavy strokes, disconnections, instability, and frequency interference, allowing for finer line capture, smoother brush strokes (a claimed accuracy improvement of 20%), and faster responsiveness (decreased to 90ms, 1.5x faster than previous generations).

In addition, the new pen has a 0.6mm retraction distance, a three gram initial activation pressure (IAF), and a 60-degree tilt. Best of all, the stylist has twin shortcut keys, a digital eraser in the tail, and a storage case with extra replacement nibs.

The Artist Pro 16 Gen 2 also has an enhanced frameless display, a metallic casing, and a foldable stand incorporated into the device’s back. The surface is constructed of a completely laminated (Anti-Glare & Anti-Fingerprint) AG-etched glass screen with little to no parallax, giving designers and retouchers a true pen-to-paper sensation.

In addition to the above screen upgrades, the Artist Pro 16 (G2) has a 2,5601,600 WUXGA TUV SUD certified anti-blue light display to optimize eye comfort while preserving extremely accurate color (including 99% sRGB), according to the firm.

The new display tablet also includes a wireless shortcut remote with 10 customizable/programmable keys and a jog dial that can be positioned four various ways to match any workflow style demands, to help keep users’ hands in an ergonomic and uninterrupted condition.

The tablet device contains two reversible USB-C ports that may be linked using a full-featured USB-C cable or an HDMI 3-in-1, allowing for charging and data transmission at the same time, reducing cord and desk clutter.

The XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 Gen 2 Display Tablet is now available for $599 from the XP-Pen Store.
