Yongnuo Announces a 25mm f/1.7 STM ASPH Micro Four Thirds Lens

Chinese company Yongnuo is known for occupying the most affordable segment of camera lenses, accessories, and camera market. After releasing quite a few SLR and mirrorless lenses for APS-C and full-frame sensors, the company joined the Micro Four Thirds Alliance in February 2020.
Speaking about the MFT Alliance, today the company has announced the launch of a newly-designed lens: the 25mm f/1.7 STM ASPH lens.

The lens is constructed of seven elements in six groups, and the design includes two extra-low dispersion elements (ED) and one aspherical element. As mentioned, the lens features autofocus powered by a stepping motor. Also, featured an aperture range of f/1.7 through f/22, has a seven-rounded-bladed diaphragm, and a close focusing distance of 20cm.
The front filter thread diameter is 52mm. The lens is made out of plastic, it weighs 150g, the diameter is 60.8mm and the length is 66.6mm.
It is designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras so the 25mm focal length translates to 50mm full-frame equivalent.

There is no word about price and availability yet, but is expected to join the other lenses on Yongnuo’s Amazon store shortly.
