The photo was taken during the “Black umbrellas protest” that took place all over Poland,
during that time when the government wanted to change (already one of the most strict) laws concerning abortion.
Women all over Poland start gathering on events that were peaceful demonstrations to show their disagreement with such violation of basic human rights.
Even though the protest was peaceful, there was an incident with an outside group of men (not related to the protest) that started attacking the police and during that attack, a few women were taken down by the police took to the police station, interrogated and hurt by the policemen claiming that they were the cause of the attack.
That phot was taken a few minutes before those events took place.
