About me

I work as a researcher cum computer engineer in Human Computer Interaction at TCS who support my interests in photography. I started my journey when my mother gifted me an analog SLR for my good grades in undergrad studies. Since then it has been 6 years that I have taught myself seriously with an undying passion for street photography. I have been awarded many accolades recognizing my talent such as People & Cultures Runner-up in London School of Photography, Performance Award in HPA 2013, 2nd Prize in 3rd Indian Himalayan Photography Competition 2013, Two honor-mentions (4th prize) in Picture Perfect Delhi photo contest 2012 and First Runner-up Kalakaar Award-2012, Hourly winner in Urban Photographer of the year 2019 and may more. To me its all about the people, the candid moments and the wonders of life that they share. Looking back at those photographs beings back both memories about the moments and the connections made with people I met and did not know about and their lives. My scene is set with the essence of the people and their surrounding environment. I think that there are no better streets to capture scenes in than Kolkata and Varanasi. In kolkata I find a mish mash of old school charm slumming in bustling streets to the fashion concious noveau rich in urban crowds. Kolkata has both a profound theatre-art scene as well deep religious believers on the Hoogly. Varanasi on the other hand is a city teeming with lanes and bylanes and busy ghats which have a lot to do with religious rituals such as deaths and births. Its the place where one can visualize life flowing by and capture its continuity as well as document the intensity of faith people have. I would like to continue travelling in his journey to discover the streets of India for the rest of my life and bring to people the fantastic scenes captured in my photographs
