Google Presents Pixel 11 Series
Google has introduced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, updating its smartphone lineup with the new Tensor G6 processor, Android 17 and several changes to the hardware. The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro feature 6.3-inch displays, while the Pro XL moves to a larger 6.8-inch panel. The Pro models are available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage and also receive larger batteries and faster charging options. While these changes affect the series as a whole, photography and video remain a central part of the update.
The standard Pixel 11 uses a 48-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and f/1.7 lens, paired with a 13-megapixel ultrawide and a 10.8-megapixel 5x telephoto camera. Computational zoom extends the range to 30x, giving the standard model a relatively broad focal range without moving to the more elaborate camera hardware of the Pro versions.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL share a more advanced triple-camera configuration: their 50-megapixel main camera uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor, while the ultrawide increases to 48 megapixels. The 5x telephoto camera has also been redesigned around a 48-megapixel 1/1.95-inch sensor, providing a larger imaging area than the previous generation. The telephoto can now be used directly for portraits, while Pro Zoom combines the optical system with computational processing to reach magnifications of up to 120x.
Google has also revised several aspects of its computational photography system. Night Sight processing is faster, while Camera Looks introduces customizable color and tonal profiles that can be selected during shooting. Magic Capture takes a different approach by recording a scene and subsequently extracting individual photographs while also generating a short video, effectively combining still and moving-image capture in a single process.
Video receives several changes as well: the Pixel 11 records up to 4K at 60 fps with 10-bit HDR, whereas the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL add 8K recording at up to 30 fps. Google has also introduced additional production tools through Creator Suite, including project organization, an integrated teleprompter, audio monitoring and speech enhancement designed to reduce unwanted background noise.
The Pixel 11 series is available with US prices starting at $899 for the Pixel 11, $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro and $1,299 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL.
