Polaroid Updates the Go Instant Camera
Polaroid announced the Go Generation 3, describing it as the smallest instant analog camera the company has produced. It is the third iteration of the Go line, which Polaroid first introduced in 2021 and updated in 2024 with the Go Generation 2.
The camera uses Polaroid’s dedicated Go film format, a proprietary stock that produces prints measuring 66.6 × 53.9mm, with an image area of 47 × 46mm: it is approximately four times smaller than the standard I-Type format used in Polaroid’s larger cameras. The Go film is sold in packs of 16 exposures at $21.99 in the United States — a cost per shot that is slightly higher than Fujifilm’s competing Instax mini format, which offers 20 exposures for around $20.99.
The optical system consists of a fixed 64mm polycarbonate lens with dual apertures of f/14.4 and f/32. Focus is fixed, with no user control over exposure settings. A built-in Xenon flash handles low-light conditions. The camera includes a small selfie mirror on the front panel, a self-timer for group photography, and a double exposure mode. A viewfinder is present for framing, though coverage is approximate given the fixed-focus, automatic nature of the system.
Polaroid has not published precise dimensions or weight figures at launch, though the camera is described as pocketable and smaller than its predecessor. Five color variants are available: black, white, teal, light blue, and purple.
The Go Generation 3 went on sale at a starting price of $89.99 in the United States and £79.99 in the United Kingdom. Availability through authorized retail partners is scheduled to begin on June 16. Bundle configurations that include film are also offered at higher price points.
