The New TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 is an $80 APS-C Lens for Mirrorless Cameras

Chinese lens manufacturer TTartisan has just launched a lens that you may find interesting if you’re a street photographer on a tight budget. The new TTartisan 35mm f/1.4 is an ultra-affordable fast manual focus lens made for APS-C mirrorless camera systems.

The fully-manual TTartisan 35mm f/1.4 lens retails for just $80 and comes in four different mounts: Sony E, Canon EOS M, Fuji X, and MFT.
It’s constructed of seven elements in six groups and weighs around 180g, has an aperture range of f/1.4-f/16, uses a ten-blade aperture diaphragm and has a minimum focusing distance of 28cm.

At first glance, it appears the TTartisan is probably using some relatively classic, simple optical formula, one that delivers impressive sharpness, and gorgeous bokeh, too.

Here are the full specs and a few more photos of the lens:

  • Focal length: 35mm
  • Maximum aperture: F1.4
  • Minimum aperture: F16
  • Frame: APS-C, M43
  • Focus method: manual
  • Lens mount: Sony E\EOS-M\Fuji X\M43
  • Filter size: 39mm
  • Closest focusing distance: 0.28m
  • Angle of view: 45°
  • Diaphragm Blades: 10pcs
  • Optical Design: 7 Elements in 6 Groups
  • Weight: around 180g

Unlike so many of the knock-off products we see popping up, this thing looks like it’s made quite sturdily, out of metal, so despite its very budget-friendly price, it might last a long time for any street photographers who take decent care of it.

You can purchase the lens over on Amazon’s page or any other authorized TTartisan retailer.
